BD-Live
players include a minimum of 1GB local memory and bring
picture-in-picture and online functionality via the player’s internet
connection.




The profile allows you to download up-to-date content to add to the
movie, from refreshed trailers to exclusive special features.



Profile 5

Profile 5 players have BD-Live, and are also capable of 3D playback.

Connected to a home network, the BDP player supports playback of music,
video and photo content from a PC or media server connected to the same
LAN and featuring multimedia content server functionality.
Playback of DRM protected commercial content requiring DTCP-IP link
protection is not supported.

Deep Colour ensures that all colour transitions and gradients are reproduced with the highest level of precision.



It enables increased contrast ratio, eliminates on-screen colour banding
(for smooth tonal transitions and subtle gradations between colours)
and can represent many times more shades of gray between black and
white.



So what you see is as natural and lifelike as possible.

We’ve applied this standard as a label (see the logo on the right) to
those of our products that accurately handle 24fps (frames per second)
movie content; this will help you make the right product choice for the
true HD movie experience.

Films are typically shot, developed and encoded for cinema reproduction at 24fps.

Regular PAL broadcasting and DVD have always played these images back at 25 fps (50Hz).

This has the effect of speeding up images and raising the pitch of sounds and voices.

But, the new high definition discs, like Blu-ray Disc, offer you
access to a digitised ”true to the original” copy of the theatrical
movie content.

24fps source input at 72Hz (3 images displayed per original frame).

HDMI - one connection for complete digital transfer of all signals.



HDMI stands for High Definition Multimedia Interface and its purpose is
to provide a single digital connection between one compatible product
and another.



For example, a single digital connection between a compatible DVD
recorder and A/V Receiver. Or a single digital connection between an
A/V Receiver and plasma screen.



The benefit of HDMI is that it supports standard, enhanced and high
definition signals via a single cable - there is no need for the signal
to be converted from digital to analogue and back again. This means
that no quality is lost in the straight-through digital HDMI connection,
so you can enjoy the full quality of high definition entertainment.

The CD -> USB recorder feature is an MP3 creator (MP3 encoder). The
tracks of audio CDs loaded in the player can be ripped on a USB device
connected to the USB port.



Simply select the CD tracks you want, choose the quality for conversion
to MP3 format and the DVD player will record everything onto your USB
stick.

This
convenient function of RDS can switch the tuner automatically to a
station on a network the moment it starts broadcasting your specified
type of programming - even while you are listening to another source
